A liar in his element

 

 

Putin, having assembled a massive army around Ukraine, swore it was for military exercises and nothing more, insisting that attacking Ukraine was not part of the Kremlin's plans. He sent an ultimatum to the West regarding NATO. Instead, he attacked Ukraine, which is in no way connected to NATO. He should have attacked Estonia or Slovakia, both NATO members. But what does Ukraine have to do with it? The Russian liar(1) claimed that only a madman could think of reviving an empire within the borders of the USSR, but the Russian army's invasion of Ukraine, which began in 2014 and the annexation of its territory, testifies to the contrary. One cannot help but recall Putin's words about the other former Soviet republics:

"The question arises: if this or that republic joined the Soviet Union but received a huge amount of Russian land, traditional Russian historical territories, and then suddenly decided to leave the Union—at least then it would have left with what it came with. And wouldn't have dragged along gifts from the Russian people."

 

True, Putin forgot to mention the circumstances of how the peoples of these republics ended up in the Russian Empire, and their entry into the Soviet Union could in no way be called voluntary. Regarding the "gifts," Putin chose not to elaborate.

But regarding Kazakhstan (2), which will likely be the next target of Russian aggression, Putin said (2): "He (Nazarbayev) created a state on territory where there had never been a state. The Kazakhs had no statehood."

 

It turns out that Putin is the madman who dreams of a Russian Empire within the borders of the Soviet Union, and perhaps even an empire that included the territories of Poland and Finland.
