Pinya the slave and his galley
Putin once compared himself to a galley
slave.
Pinya the Slave, who once overconfidently took charge of the
galley, is clearly failing. Recent turbulent events are inexorably driving the
galley toward the rocks, threatening to shatter it into splinters. The
foul-smelling underwear, hung from the mast in place of the windblown flag,
despite being twice-washed, is driving away all potential rescuers. The
galley's passengers, who have relied too much on Pinya the Slave, now have
neither the time nor the chance to avoid disaster. And yet, as has been known since
time immemorial, a slave should never be trusted, especially in such a matter
as command. And this truth was followed by everyone, from the emperor to the
most petty official, but the Russian people, due to their pathological
unwillingness to engage in active organizational activity, and perhaps even
their inability to do so (1), handed over their fate and well-being to a slave,
and now nothing can save the galley and its passengers.
