Russia plus Putin is absolute Evil

 

 

Today, finally, in the West, few doubt that Putin is a murderer and a liar. As soon as Putin opens his mouth, a stream of lies pours out. Once, in the media, I asked myself a simple question: "I would be grateful if someone could give me at least one example of Putin telling the truth?" My question remained unanswered. Yes, there are lying people, including presidents like Putin, but what is more important here is the fact that the Russian people as a whole do not see anything reprehensible in this. Russians have lived in lies since the days of Communism and have probably become so accustomed to it that they cannot imagine any other life.

In this regard, I would like to note a unique feature of the Russian people, namely, their acceptability of lies. (1) In the consciousness of a Russian, truth and lies coexist perfectly well without causing any harm. Once, during the Soviet Union, a Swedish woman, who was doing an internship at Moscow State University, told a group of students about her important discovery, as she imagined it: “In your country, everyone says one thing and thinks another.” This state of ambiguity, so familiar to our consciousness, puzzled her. She, who grew up in a free society, could not understand how it could happen that everyone had the same opinion on any issue. What seemed self-evident to us, accustomed to universal lies, seemed unnatural to her, and perhaps even herd savagery, which she, of course, kept silent about. From this it is clear with what ease the lies of the Russian president, which correspond to the imperial worldview of the people, are instantly accepted by the consciousness of every Russian without hesitation, regardless of what country he lives in. The latter says that even changed circumstances are not able to change the imperial worldview of the Russian people. In my opinion, Russian society, accustomed to Lies during the existence of the Soviet Union, plus the pathological inability of the Russian people to live in a democracy (2), combined with its imperial worldview, is in itself a kind of embodiment of Universal Evil, posing a threat to the World. And it is not about Putin, Putin serves only as a successful conductor, organizer of the outburst of this Evil. Thus, to the generally accepted, well-known definition of Russia as the "Empire of Evil" we can equally add "Empire of Lies", because "lies" and "evil" are accompanying concepts and do not exist without each other. How can one not recall the famous expression of Victor Hugo "Lies are the embodiment of Evil".

Thus, Russia's aggression against Ukraine was accompanied by a massive injection of an incredible amount of disinformation and outright lies by the Russian media from the Kremlin and personally by President Putin - the main, I would say, unsurpassed liar of Russia today. There is no point in citing the long track record of lies of the Russian president, because every word he says is a lie. Probably, after the way Putin treated Ukraine, it is difficult to find a diplomat who would take on the responsibility of negotiating with Putin. Lies are inseparable from Evil just as the Russian people are inseparable from Putin. In vain do the West still console themselves with the hope that once Putin loses power, Russia will change. Russia will change only in one case, when it disappears as an empire and returns to its original borders of Muscovy, having given up control over other peoples of the disintegrated empire.

 

All modern technologies used in Russia are a product of the West, and, having lost the ability to scratch, as Putin said, boasting of his penchant for theft, the Evil Empire will stop developing. The traditional Russian system of power, focused on one person, as well as the absence of democracy, excludes freedom in all areas of human creativity, without which progress is impossible. I have already said that the Russian people and democracy are nonsense (3). The Constitution, which after multiple changes has become the guarantor of Putin's permanent power, the tame parliament, uncontested elections, freedom of speech and other attributes of democracy, are a pure illusion and sham for the West, which has long tried to convince itself of the rebirth of the Evil Empire. Yes, under Putin the empire has been reborn in some way, acquiring yet another image as the Empire of Lies. And this is not just about Putin, but about the mentality of the Russian people with their imperial worldview, a people who welcome "Crimea is ours", delightedly perceiving the militaristic frenzy that spews out of the idiot box around the clock, with a hidden dream of restoring the empire within its former borders (4).

 

The characteristic features of fascist ideology are the unlimited will of the state (the Soviet Union) and Nazism. In Germany, Nazism took the form of racism. Both countries took revenge to restore the former Roman and German empires. The venture ended in failure. The sad end of the organizers of fascism is known: Hitler shot himself, and Mussolini was shamefully hanged upside down by his people. It would seem that such historical experience should have been enough to avoid future mistakes, however ... .

 

However, in Europe, the shadow of Hitler has loomed again in the form of Russian President Putin, who regrets the collapse of the Soviet empire and has decided to revive it within its former borders. The Russian Fuhrer is one-to-one copying all of Hitler's revanchist methods that led to the beginning of World War II (5). It should be noted that Hitler, who had to go through a difficult path of political struggle, find like-minded people, and create a party before leading the German people, while Putin, unlike his predecessor, did not have much trouble enlisting the support of the Russian population to achieve his revanchist goals. The Great Russian chauvinism that Stalin pointed out has not gone away. Putin did not need a party, his party was the Russian people, who enthusiastically accepted the aggressive actions to restore the empire, starting with the cry of "strangle the vermin" (Chechnya) and the subsequent wars with Georgia and Ukraine, and the annexation of part of their territories. Having destroyed all the rudiments of Yeltsin's democracy, from which the people spat blood, Putin returned to totalitarianism as the most acceptable system for a people with an imperial worldview. The Russian people saw in Putin a leader capable of returning the empire to its former greatness. The propaganda of military patriotism, the Victory madness in the form of pompous military parades, the militarization of the country and the annexation of foreign territories testify to the maturity of fascism established in Russia.

 

It would seem that the Russian people have everything they need for a comfortable existence, live, work, increase their well-being, rejoice in their achievements. But no, the people of Russia do not need well-being, the people need to seize, rob, no matter what country, just to satisfy their imperial worldview. For a Russian, there is no greater joy than to conquer another people by war. Peaceful coexistence with neighbors does not bring any benefit to Russia. Russians are ready for any consequences of war, including nuclear war. The philosopher I.A. spoke very accurately about his Russian people. Ilyin: "This nation has been wallowing in shit throughout its history and at the same time wants to drown the entire world in it..." As if to confirm Ilyin's rightness, I will quote Putin's words: "Why do we need the world if there is no Russia in it?" The aggressive actions of Putin's Russia have brought Western politicians, scratching their heads, back to reality. They certainly haven't read Krylov's fables "The Wolf and the Lamb", but I hope they know that calling on the wolf for justice is a hopeless business. Maybe they will finally realize that "friend Putin", who loudly declared his regret at the collapse of the USSR and compared what happened to a global catastrophe, intends to recreate the Soviet Union and is not much different from Hitler, who set out to build a "great Reich". I would like to note that Putin's intentions even have an advantage over Hitler's, because unlike Hitler, Putin relies on the imperial worldview and Great Russian chauvinism present in the people. Putin does not need to build a party, create an ideology, it is enough to throw out a cry "we'll wipe out Chechnya" or "give us Crimea" and he is provided with the support and full understanding of the Russian people. It is simply amazing with what unanimity the people accepted and supported Putin's lie about the non-involvement of Russian troops, the so-called "little green men", without identification marks, in the annexation of Crimea. This is exactly the case when, in the words of Fazil Iskander, "the general stench is taken for the unanimity of the people." In conclusion, I would like to say that the reason for Russia's constant aggressiveness lies not in the regime or in the ideology, but in the mentality of the Russian people, which is a hereditary component, coupled with the imperial worldview. In the post-Soviet space, all countries have abandoned communist ideology and, with the exception of the Baltic states, are in approximately the same position in terms of democracy, but only Russia remains, as before, a country that poses a threat.
