Azerbaijan: A Chance for Reunification

 

 

Whether intentional or accidental, two drones, presumably Iranian, were discovered in Nakhchivan – one inside the airport terminal, the other near a school. Today, when, in response to attacks by the US and Israel, the Iranian regime is firing missiles and drones at Israel and countries hosting American military bases, it's hard to believe that Azerbaijan was being targeted for several reasons.

 

First, it's unreasonable to consider a strike by two drones a military attack on the country. If Iran had truly planned to attack Azerbaijan, it would have sent not two drones, but a swarm of missiles and drones, as it did in the case of Israel, and not toward Nakhchivan, but toward Baku.

Secondly, given that the Islamic Republic of Iran is in an extremely dire situation, facing the threat of collapse, it would be unwise to engage in a new war with Azerbaijan, which has a powerful ally in Turkey.

 

On the other hand, be that as it may, fate offers Azerbaijan and its people a rare chance to reunite and correct the tragic consequences of past historical events, a political analysis of which I have previously presented in several articles. (1-14) To protect the population of Southern Azerbaijan from US and Israeli airstrikes, Azerbaijan could deploy troops, thereby demonstrating that the territory has been liberated from the religious regime and its army of oprichniks – the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution.
